In part one of the “My Favourite Album” audio podcast, Neil and host Jeremy Dylan delve into The Beatles’ “Beatles for Sale” and Neil Young’s “After the Goldrush”. They also talk about their shared memories of a bizarre Crowded House gig in Hyde Park, covering the Beatles with Paul Kelly, the Finn family record collection circa 1964, Neil’s planned first name-based supergroup, singing in falsetto and why he’s a self-described “perverse bastard'“.
Next week, in part 2, hear Neil and Jeremy talk Bowie and Radiohead, as they fail to solve rock’s most enduring mystery.
Neil had an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit today and might do more later today or tomorrow.

Taking place at one of WA’s most picturesque outdoor concert venues, this will be a spectacular evening under the stars, with a unique solo performance from Neil Finn, playing all of his hits acoustically.
Over the past 4 decades, Neil Finn has inspired generations with his songs. From Crowded House, Split Enz, Finn Brothers and his solo work, Neil Finn has produced a legacy of music that has seen him heralded as one of the world’s greatest songwriters. His current album, Dizzy Heights, is his first solo album in 13 years and has received critical acclaim across the country.
Highly regarded Indigenous artist, Gurrumul Yunupingu, is known for his extraordinary voice and has become something of a cultural phenomenon. The Multi-ARIA award-winning and fourth time Deadly Awards recipient for Best Male Artist of the Year, Gurrumul, has already made a huge contribution to the Australian music industry. He’s been hailed as a “national treasure” and is considered as one of Australia’s most important voices.
Multiple ARIA-award winning, Megan Washington, burst onto the scene in 2009 and introduced us to her own brand of pure, eclectic, shining pop. Over the years, she has been crowned as the “pop darling” and shows no signs of slowing down. Washington continues to connect with her live audiences in such a positive and special way. Her highly anticipated new album “There There” is due for release on September 12th and there is a lot of excitement surrounding her new recording
Come and join three of the finest musician’s in a glorious night under the stars – The evening promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.
“Neil Finn may be a New Zealander but the Woodface album was made in Melbourne and the genius of this song’s middle eight alone earns its place in Australian pop culture.”

As her album Brightly Painted One was being released in New Zealand, Tiny Ruins’ Hollie Fullbrook was opening the European leg of Neil Finn’s world tour, and playing cello in his backing band each evening. At the same time she was preparing for her own headline shows.

Radio New Zealand sent Hollie away with a portable recorder to capture the sounds and stresses of European touring, both with a top-tier band in a tour bus, and as a D.I.Y. up-and-comer on a budget. This half hour documentary includes Neil and the band on and off stage plus some of his most dedicated fans.
