Heal The Sky
"Heal The Sky" is a charity compilation aiming to help children who are victims of the war in Ukraine. The curator of the collection is the legendary Russian musician and poet Boris Grebenshchikov who was supported in this project by his friends and colleagues like Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Marianne Faithful, Marc Almond, Richard Thompson, Jackson Browne, The Waterboys, Clannad, Crowded House and others.
All proceeds from the sales and streaming of the compilation will go to Kyiv’s specialized children's hospital "Ohmatdyt".
Boris Grebenshchikov: “Since the 80s proud sons of The Down Under - Crowded House - gave the world some of the most achingly beautiful songs - and are still at it. My long time friend Mitchell Froom, who used to produce them, now plays keyboards in the band; he told them about Heal the Sky, and they gave us previously unheard live version of one of their most popular tunes”.
Crowded House: "We are watching from a great distance the daily struggles of the Ukrainian people against the harsh and aggressive Russian invasion. We can only imagine the difficulties of living through this war. Crowded House is glad to be a part of this record. We wish the people of Ukraine every success in their fight for freedom and we hope for peace and comfort for those who are suffering. They come to build a wall between us… we know they won’t win.“
