Ronnie Ronalde 1923-2015

I had the good fortune to hear Ronnie whistle when he opened up for me in Auckland on the Try Whistling This tour . He was a master at his profession, as good as any bird I’ve heard and a charming funny man to go with it .

Ronnie Ronalde died in England on 13th January 2015, aged 91. Here he is performing Johann Strauss II’s “Tritsch Tratsch Polka” on Ronnie’s 75th birthday, 29th June 1998 at St James Theatre, Auckland. This was the last night of Neil’s “Try Whistling This” tour of New Zealand.
